About Hard Labor Creek State Park
Hard Labor Creek State Park covers 5,804 acres just outside the little town of Rutledge, with more than 24 miles of trails for hikers and horseback riders. People come to swim at the seasonal sand beach, paddle and fish on two lakes, play The Creek golf course and stay in the cottages and campgrounds.
The park closed for a managed deer hunt on November 3 and 4, 2025; check the park page for closures before you go. The Hard Labor Creek Reservoir in Walton County is a separate lake, not part of the park.

Rides cross busier roads but never ride along them, so a home on a quiet street can count while one across town on a highway won’t.
