How we measure the walk, ride and drive

Walks follow actual sidewalks, trails, paths and streets at an easy 3 mph from the middle of Emmanuel University; a creek, fence or highway in the way counts against a home.

Rides are at an easy 10 mph on trails, bike lanes and streets posted 30 mph or less; they cross busier roads but never ride along them.

Drives use our own map of the roads at usual speeds for each kind of road, with a little time at intersections and for parking; traffic isn’t counted.
